Mariam Tahir joined American Visa Law Group in December 2017 as a legal assistant. She works on a wide range of immigration related matters in both employment based petitions and family based petitions. She has particularly worked on H1-B’s and PERM cases but is always eager to take on new challenging cases and learn in the process. She has received her L.LB. Hons from the University of London External Program graduating with an Upper Second Class Hons. She then did her L.LM. from the University of Toronto, Canada. Mariam is licensed to practice law in California.
Mariam was born in the United States but grew up in Canada. She moved back to the United States after getting married. Throughout her law career, Mariam has interned at various immigration firms in London (UK) and Lahore (Pakistan) to gain valuable experience. Immigration law has always been of interest to her. Her grandfather was a High Court Judge in Lahore, Pakistan and she considers him to be her inspiration. She wishes to follow in his footsteps. Mariam speaks English as well as Urdu/Hindi.
Mariam has a four year old daughter who keeps her busy when she’s not working. She loves spending weekends with her husband and daughter doing different activities; whether at home or outside.
