Hasan Abdullah grew up in Toronto, Canada before immigrating to the US to pursue his studies and received his Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University (SCU) School of Law. As a Pakistani/Indian origin immigration attorney, he is able to communicate in Urdu/Hindi, and even a bit of French owing to his upbringing in Canada. He is has held membership American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) for over a decade.
While studying at SCU, he interned at their community law center and focused on family-based immigration, VAWA petitions, political asylum, and criminal victim (U-Visa) cases.
Prior to founding the American Visa Law Group he was a member of a full service immigration law firm, and was quickly promoted to manage and train the staff of attorneys and paralegals. While practicing he has prepared/managed over two thousand cases and mentored and trained several attorneys. He has hosted a regular immigration advice radio show on AM1170AM KLOK and AM1550 Radio Zindagi, and was the first immigration attorney to be awarded the Lawyers in the Library Volunteer Merit Award by the San Jose Pro Bono Project. Some of his other honors include his selection as a Top 40 Under 40 Attorney in the state of California by the American Society of Legal Advocates, and based on awards, industry experience, and peer recognition, he has earned a score of 10.0 by the Avvo attorney rating service, which is their top rating score which only a small percentage achieve. He founded the American Visa Law Group in early 2015.
